Opioid Use Disorder Treatment That Comes to You

Struggling with opioids doesn’t mean you’ve failed—it means you need support. At PursueCare, we help you take back control with compassionate, evidence-based treatment that meets you where you are. Whether you’re using prescription opioids, heroin, or fentanyl, you don’t have to go through this alone. We’re here to help you start recovery on your terms.

What Is Opioid Use Disorder?
Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) is a chronic medical condition that affects how the brain responds to opioid drugs. Opioids attach themselves to opioid receptors in the brain, spinal cord, and gastrointestinal tract. Whenever opioids attach to these receptors, they exert their effects. The brain actually manufactures its own version of opioids – natural ones – known as “endorphins.”

Endorphins are are responsible for a host of effects within the body, including decreasing pain, lowering the respiratory rate, and even helping to prevent depression and anxiety. Opioids interact with opioid receptors on nerve cells in the brain and nervous system in a similar way to endorphins, producing pleasurable effects.

It often begins with a prescription or recreational use, and can develop into a physical and emotional dependence that’s difficult to stop without support. OUD can impact every part of life—relationships, work, mental health, and physical well-being—but it is treatable.

We treat opioid use disorder (OUD) with therapy/counseling and by prescribing medications such as Suboxone and Subutex as part of your program. You will have a team of licensed clinicians, counselors, and case managers supporting you every step of your journey.

Common Signs and Symptoms of Opioid Use Disorder

If you or someone you love is experiencing any of the following, it may be time to seek help:

  • – Strong cravings for opioids or feeling unable to stop using
  • – Needing more opioids to feel the same effects (tolerance)
  • – Withdrawal symptoms when not using
  • – Changes in sleep, mood, or appetite
  • – Isolating from friends and family
  • – Losing interest in things you once enjoyed
  • – Risky behaviors to obtain opioids

OUD doesn’t look the same for everyone.

What matters most is recognizing when it’s affecting your life and knowing that support is available.
