Last week a bipartisan bill, the Connect for Health Act of 2019, was introduced to the US legislature. The bill will expand telehealth services through Medicare, increase access to care, and help get high quality mental health and substance use disorder treatment to patients from virtual providers like PursueCare.
In April, I submitted comments to the Congressional Telehealth Caucus, which were relied upon, in part, to craft the bill.
There is still much more to be done. But this is progress, and I rarely let perfect get in the way of good. We are proud to officially endorse this bill with the 120+ other health organizations that believe virtual care can help a lot of people achieve better health. Thanks to the Office of Senator Brian Schatz for leading this effort and to our friends in various places for continuing to lobby for the best interests of patients in need.
Recovery is possible.
Sincerely,
